The Econometric Institute at Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for three-year non-tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level starting in September 2020 or a mutually agreed date.
Applicants should have (or be very near completion of) a PhD (in the area of Operations Research, Computer Science or Industrial Engineering) by the start date. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research and teaching.
The compensation package is competitive at the European level and includes several secondary benefits. Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.

About the Econometric Institute
The Econometric InstituteOpens external has a long and strong research tradition in econometrics, statistics, data science, and Operations Research (OR), with 50 faculty members across these areas. The OR group works on quantitative methods (e.g. deterministic and stochastic Operations Research techniques) with a strong focus on applications in passenger and freight transportation, logistics, supply chain management and health care.
The Econometric Institute is part of an active research community within the Erasmus School of Economics . Erasmus School of Economics is one of the largest and most successful economics schools in Europe, offering excellent research facilities to its faculty. The school offers a bachelor and master program in econometrics and operations research, attracting 450 bachelor and 250 new master students per year. Erasmus School of Economics has a close cooperation with other schools of the university such as RSM (via the research institute ERIM).
Members of the OR group typically teach methodological courses in OR, Mathematics or Computer Science as well as case studies where students apply the methodology on problems in e.g. transportation and logistics.
