Description
The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences has begun a recruitment and selection process to hire teaching and research staff. We are looking for someone with a PhD in operations management, operations research, engineering management, industrial engineering or management sciences who would like to contribute to the teaching and research activities in the field of operations management.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the education of both undergraduate and postgraduate students and must have a proven track record of effective teaching in English. Strong research and writing skills, experience with empirical research and the ability to work well as part of a team will be looked upon favourably.

Courses might include (but are not limited to): Operations Management, Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing and Logistics.

What we offer
A full-time contract in a dynamic and international scientific environment in the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona (Social Science Campus, in Barcelona). A part-time contract could be negotiated.
A tenure-track (four-year) position with a mid-term evaluation (depending on the candidate’s profile, the position may automatically become permanent).
A competitive salary based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Full relocation assistance and financial support for the candidate’s research (in accordance with the candidate’s experience).
Start date: September 2020 (date is negotiable).

The candidate must have:
- A PhD in a discipline related to the position.
- A minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral experience.
- A minimum of 480 hours of teaching experience with good results in terms of student satisfaction.
- Assessment criteria

The following aspects of the candidate’s CV will be taken into consideration:
- Proven record of effective teaching.
- Active involvement in teaching innovation practices.
- Oral and written proficiency in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We expect the candidate to be able to design and lead their own group and projects independently.
- Ability to supervise and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects.
